Red Dead Redemption and Super Mario Galaxy 2 top the June NPD sales

One of the big sellers in June on the software side was Red Dead Redemption which came in first place for the 360 with 582,900 sales as well as third place for the PS3 with 380,300 sales. Second place went to Super Mario Galaxy 2 with 548,400 sales. If those titles look familiar it's because the top three spots for May were those exact same games. It appears the summer drought is upon us.

On the hardware side the DS continues its dominance at first place with 510,700 sales. The second place spot isn't the Wii however, this month it goes to the Xbox 360 with 451,700 sales. The sales spike for the 360 is in response to their new black redesigned console. The third spot goes to the Wii with 422,500 sales.

Head past the jump for the full list to see how all the systems performed as well as the top 10 best selling games this month.
