Sony starting it's own "Online Pass" begining with Resistance 3

Remember EA's "Online Pass" where if you buy a used game you have to pay 10 dollars to activate the online, well unfortunately other companies are starting to follow suit. In this case it's Sony with their new program that will start with Resistance 3.

Not all the details have been revealed so there's some speculation going around the internet about certain aspect of the program. Here's some of the things that have not been confirmed.

 - Whether or not this will apply to all Sony games in the future
 - If they'll restrict full online functionality or just partial

Here's the statement, "We are always evaluating new programs for our online offering and starting with Resistance 3 this September, we will be instituting a network pass program for PS3 games with online capabilities. This program will be game-specific. Games that are a part of this program will include a single-use registration code that grants the account holder redeeming the code full online access for that title. This is an important initiative as it allows us to accelerate our commitment to enhancing premium online services across our first party game portfolio."

EA comments on bringing Battlefield 3 and Mass Effect to the Wii U

EA hasn't really announced if Mass Effect 3 and Battlefield 3 will be coming to the Wii U but they sure have been talking.

"What's really going to make it [Wii U] stand out for core gamers is the new controller. It's touchscreen, it's elegant and it works seamlessly with the experience. We've just had a little bit of time with it and we've uncovered new ways of playing Battlefield that I'm really excited about," said Frank Gibeau of Electronic Arts regarding Battlefield 3.

He also had some things to say on bringing Mass Effect to the Wii U. The way he worded it sounded like their might be some news at a later time.

"I can’t say we are going to do it on the Wii U, but you can imagine what we could do with that controller in the Mass Effect universe. It feels like a really nice fit, but we’ll announce that when the time is right."
