Catch your own free Celebi

You can catch your very own Celebi right now by going to the Pokemon Black and White Tour which began on February 5. Oh, what's that? You're not able to make the trip out to the 14 cities it's running through. Well fret not, Nintendo is giving you the option of downloading Celebi via your local Gamestop. But you better hurry because you only have until March 6.

Once you have Celebi there are special scenarios that you can discover. The first is when you transfer your Celebi to your Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver game and take Celebi to the Shrine in Ilex Forest. It will cause you to go back in time and fight Team Rocket boss Giovanni.

The second scenario happens when you transfer your Celebi to Pokemon Black or White. It will unlock the opportunity to catch Zorua. Pokemon Black and Pokemon White will be available on March 6.

Catch Latias or Latios in Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver's latest Wi-Fi event

Nintendo's latest WiFi event for Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver gives you the opportunity to catch the legendary pokemon Latios or Latias. Which one you'll face depends on which game you bought, HG gives you Latios and SS gives you Latias.

In case you're a little confused on what exactly to do, serebii sums it up pretty nicely.

"The third WiFi Event in Pokémon Heart Gold & Soul Silver gives you the key item; Enigma Stone. When you take this item to the Pewter City Museum and take it to the guy who revives your fossils, he will discover that it is the Soul Dew. Soon after, Steven Stone will arrive and will tell you it is an incarnation of the souls of Latios & Latias. Once you leave, Latios or Latias will arrive and challenge you depending on the version you have."

The event is on now and will continue until Friday, August 27.

The pokeathlon is another way to compete in Heart Gold and Soul Silver. The events will test the Speed, Power, Skill, Stamina, and Jump abilities of your Pokémon. Most of the events will have you using the stylus in some way. Also depending on how you do in the events, you will receive Athlete Points which can be exchanged for items. Pokemon Heart Gold and Soul Silver launch on March 14 in North America.

Catch a Jirachi at Gamestop

Beginning Saturday, February 27 through Saturday, March 13 you'll be able to pick up your very own Jirachi at your local Gamestop. Just like Pichu, transferring Jirachi to Heart Gold or Soul Silver will unlock extra content.

Catch a Special Pichu

Beginning January 30th to February 14th, head to GameStop to get a unique Shiny Pichu for your Pokémon Diamond, Pearl or Platinum Version game!

 "A special Pichu is heading to Pokémon Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum Versions, but only for a limited time! From January 30th to February 14th, head to a U.S. GameStop store with your Nintendo DS™ and Pokémon game to receive a Shiny Pichu! There's also a secret that you'll uncover if you trade this Pichu to HeartGold or SoulSilver.

Pokemon Gold & Silver To Include Walking Meter

-The PokeWalker device interfaces with your DS via infrared.
-You can transfer over a single Pokemon, who then becomes visible on the device's screen.
-As you walk around with the PokeWalker in hand, the Pokemon will gain experience.
-Its affection for you will also grow.
-The device converts your foot steps into "watts," which can be used to catch wild Pokemon and search for tools for sending back to the main Heart Gold/Soul Silver software.

I've been waiting for this for a long time now and I'm sure some of you were too. Gold and Silver (and later Crystal) were some of my favorite games. Both versions are due in Japan some time this fall.
