Playstation Vita launch delayed to 2012 in North America and Europe

Sony planned a worldwide launch for the Vita but now there are a change of plans. The Vita will still launch in Japan before the year ends but North America and Europe will have to wait until 2012 to play with Sony's newest portable.

According Hirai the delay is because they want to have a solid launch lineup of games for each region, though we still don't have any indication as to what games are going to be there day one.

And if you think there will be some type of price drop for the Vita as a response to the 3DS price drop, think again. "We packed so much into the device and made it very affordable. There is no need to lower the price just because somebody else that happens to be in the video game business decided that they were going to lower their price," said Hirai.

Nintendo is in a vulnerable spot right now in regards to the 3DS. With this delay Sony is giving Nintendo the opportunity to be the "Hot Item" come this holiday season which may backfire on them in the long run.

Mega Man Legends 3: Prototype Version Delayed

Capcom has announced that Mega Man Legends 3: Prototype Version has been delayed. The game is a two dollar downloadable slice, or 'Prototype Version" if you will, of the actual game Mega Man Legends 3. It was supposed to be released along side the eShop on the 3DS when it launches on June 6th. No new release date was given.

"My sincere apologies go out to all who have been eagerly awaiting this game's release! [...] But all of us here on the development team are going to continue working on this project, harder than ever. Keep cheering us on!" Said Producer Kitabayashi.

3DS eShop delayed to June 6 in North America

The 3DS eShop was scheduled to release in late may, that date has now been delayed to June 6th in North America and the 7th in Japan. It's no coincidence that this is also E3 week so expect some eShop announcements at the event.

Mass Effect 3 delayed until Early 2012

BioWare has announced that Mass Effect 3 will be delayed and is set to release somewhere between "the first three months of 2012."

"The development team is laser focused on making sure Mass Effect 3 is the biggest, boldest and best game in the series, ensuring that it exceeds everyone's expectations," said executive producer Casey Hudson.

Duke Nukem Forever delayed once more

Duke Nukem Forever has been delayed until June 14 in North America and June 10 everywhere else. With so many delays throughout the years for this game what's one more, for old times sake.

Also the "Duke never comes early" quote is pretty funny.

Gears of War 3 delayed to 'holiday season' next year

Hey remember when you thought that Gears of War 3 was coming out April 2011, well... it's not. Gears 3 has been pushed back to the holiday season 2011. As to why it has been pushed back, Microsoft released a statement saying, "we've elected to move the launch of Gears of War 3 until Fall 2011 to make it the marquee title for the holiday season."

With the first half of 2011 looking more and more crowded it seems the delay has been done to make sure GoW 3 dominates in sales.
