Everyone knows the DS sells like hotcakes, but just how well has the little hand-held done? Nintendo is happy to report that the life-to-date sales for the DS family of systems has now reached 47 million in the US. This makes the DS the best selling console in the US of all time. A record previously held by Sony's PS2.
This feat comes at a perfect time because from here on out all attention will be on Nintendo's new portable system, the 3DS. Once the general public gets their hands (and eyes) on the 3DS sales for the old DS's will surely grind to a halt.
